Group Class Descriptions Please Note: Group Classes are not an appropriate venue for dealing with any issues involving aggression. If your dog is exhibiting aggressive behavior toward people or other dogs, please consider Private Behavior Modification sessions with Nicole. Basic Obedience (All ages) Whether your dog has never taken a formal training class, or has had some training but needs to respond more consistently to commands, this is the class to take! Your dog will learn to “Sit” “Down” “Stay” Walk on a Loose Leash “Wait” “Come” and MORE consistently, without you having to repeat the command. Transform your dog’s bad behaviors into good manners and learn how to command your dog’s respect without using harsh methods, choke chains or pinch collars. Build a better relationship and a closer bond with your dog by learning how to communicate with them in a fun, positive way while learning essential obedience commands. Help your dog to be more confident and sociable with other dogs and humans using proven techniques. Basic Obedience for Small Breeds ONLY (25 lbs. and under) also offered. Small breed dogs have different play styles and training needs than larger breed dogs. A class limited to smaller size dogs ensures a non-intimidating environment in which your small dog will be able to learn and play comfortably and safely! Trick Training (All ages) Prerequisite: Dog must be able to “Sit” and “(Lay) Down” on command as well as be friendly with other dogs and people. (The real trick is that while your dog is having fun learning all these new tricks to show off, you are still reinforcing good obedience skills and attentiveness to commands.)
Prerequisite: Basic Obedience or Equivalent training Time to really polish those Obedience skills! This class will reinforce basic obedience commands in the presence of distractions, with increasing duration and distance from you. Focus will be on proofing obedience commands for unpredictable 'real life' situations. New commands will include: “Stand” “Stand & Stay” “(Go to your) Place” “(Come to my) Side” and a formal “Heel.” Socialization before and during the class will be discouraged as the goal in this class is to have the dog focus only on the owner while working. (Socialization after class is ok and a well-earned reward!) This is a great class for owners who want to eventually have their dog consistently trained off-leash, and as preparation for Therapy Dog work or CGC Testing.
Potty Training Seminar* - 1 Hour Whether your dog is 8 wks. or 8 yrs. old, learn everything you need to know in order to successfully potty train your dog! Learn how to: stop your dog from having accidents in the house; teach your dog to "Go Potty" on command and in the same spot every time; teach your dog to let you know when she needs to go potty; break bad potty training habits - even if they have been ingrained for years!; reduce pooping volume and frequency; and MORE! Using PROVEN, gentle, dog-friendly techniques.
